Our company was established in Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture in 1971, and has since been processing marine products together with local communities and business partners. Based on our group mission, “To supply healthy seafood to the people of the world in a responsible way with respect for nature,” we currently operate as a global company from Aomori that undertakes salmon farming, processing, and sales in eight countries across Asia and Europe.

The fisheries industry is said to be declining in Japan but growing overseas. We believe that an unstable supply and declining consumption is impeding the growth of the Japanese fisheries industry. By promoting sustainable fish farming, expanding supply, and promoting sales in the Asia region, where consumption of marine products is expected to increase, the Okamura Foods group carries out operations with the strong ambition of putting Japan’s fisheries industry back onto a growth trajectory.
