Aquaculture Business
We are engaged in salmon farming
in two countries: Japan (Aomori Prefecture) and Denmark.
The large-scale salmon aquaculture business started in Japan utilizes the aquaculture knowledge cultivated
in Denmark and introduces equipment of the Scandinavian level,
an advanced region in the fishing industry.
In cooperation with the local community,
we are advancing our aquaculture business for the global market.

In Denmark, one of the world's leading fishing nations for farming salmon trout with eggs
In Denmark, our wholly owned subsidiary Musholm produces more than 3,500 tons of salmon trout each year. The company farms salmon trout with eggs in order to differentiate itself from Norwegian aquaculture companies, the world leader in salmon farming. Most of the eggs are exported to our company and used as raw materials in our domestic processing operations. The meat of the fish is sold to European countries and other markets, where it is used as raw material for processing smoked salmon.

In Japan, we established Japan Salmon Farm Co., Ltd. in Fukaura-machi, Aomori Prefecture in June 2017 to produce salmon trout. Utilizing the large-scale production know-how of our Danish subsidiary Musholm, a leader in salmon farming, we have established an integrated farming system from eggs to adult fish.
