1971
Founded in Aomori
The company was founded in Aomori as a factory that processed marine products. When the company was established, we were energetically developing products even during a tough economic period.

1980
Created a popular item so that our company could expand.
The founder, Yoshiaki Okamura was an idea man and created many popular items. One of these items was the "diamond series". It was in the shape of herring roe and made of eggs of shishamo smelt. The flavor was soy sauce, mayonnaise, and mentaiko. With this product, we were able to expand sales channels nationwide. Then, our company got bigger and became a micro-enterprise.

1990
Started trading with Musholm A/S
We succeeded in making the world's first seasoned salmon roe using the eggs of frozen trout.
Only Musholm A/S provided us with these eggs, and they eventually joined our group. -
1992
Opened a retail store "PORT".
We opened a retail store, PORT, to sell our high-quality processed marine products directly to consumers. Now PORT has formed a merger with OKAMURA FOODS and continues to sell our products.

2002
Warehouse fire.
In 2002, there was a fire that burned down our warehouse. We lost almost all of our capital. However, we restored it in only two years and reported significant profits as a team.

2003
Founded Okamura Trading Co., Ltd.
We founded Okamura Trading Co., Ltd. in Chuo-ku, Tokyo as the contact point to Vietnam.
This company processed salmon sushi toppings in Vietnam. It grew rapidly because of the boom of conveyor-belt sushi in Japan. Now it has formed a merger with OKAMURA FOODS and has become our core business for processing overseas. -
2005
Musholm A/S became a subsidiary.
Musholm A/S which provides us with frozen eggs and are aquaculture farmers in Denmark became a subsidiary. Thus, we were able to get aquaculture know‐how while also securing raw materials.

2008
Launched a chain of Japanese restaurants in Vietnam.
To market Japanese food in Vietnam, we founded Viet Fuji Inv. as a joint venture. We launched a chain of Japanese restaurants in Vietnam.

2015
Started wholesale business in Singapore.
We started a wholesale business to process marine products in Singapore to take advantage of the market expansion of Japanese food in Asia.

2017
Entered large-scale aquaculture business in Japan.
After getting aquaculture know‐how from Musholm A/S, we made sure that Aomori was the best place for salmon farming. In 2017, Japan Salmon Farm Inc. was established in Fukaura-Cho, Nishitsugaru-Gun, Aomori, and started a large-scale aquaculture business focused on salmon.
Built our first factory overseas.
To alleviate the overconcentration of processing bases in Vietnam, we built Okamura Trading Myanmar Co., Ltd. in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone of Myanmar.

2018
Expanded wholesale business in Malaysia.
As part of expanding wholesale business in Asia, Xenka Trading (M) Sdn. Bhd. that was a customer of Okamura Trading Singapore Pte., Ltd. became a subsidiary.

2019
Reorganization of group.
OKAMURA FOODS managed the merger of Okamura Trading and PORT to improve management efficiency.

2020
Founded Okamura Trading Vietnam Co., Ltd.
We founded Okamura Trading Vietnam Co., Ltd. for the production management and quality control technologies.

2021
Entered wholesale business in Taiwan as a third base.
We built Okamura Trading Taiwan Co., Ltd. in Taiwan to sell Japanese food products to take advantage of the market expansion of Japanese food in Asia.

2023
Expansion into Thailand as the fourth overseas wholesale business.
Okamura Trading (Thailand) Co., Ltd. was established to sell Japanese foodstuffs in Thailand.
Newly listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (stock code: 2938).
The company was listed on the Standard Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange with the aim of raising funds and acquiring human resources for business expansion.
It was the first time in 16 years that a company headquartered in Aomori Prefecture was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, except for listings following the merger of financial institutions.
